PRIDE-INDIA: A Major Step Forward for Collaborative Healthcare Innovation
₹6.5 Crore ICMR-Funded National Consortium Project
I am pleased to share a significant milestone in collaborative healthcare research and innovation at Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET).
PRIDE-INDIA, an ₹6.5 crore project funded by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), has been approved as a national consortium project involving leading academic and healthcare institutions across India. The project has been awarded to Proton BioSystems Lab, an interdisciplinary research laboratory at TIET focused on healthcare innovation, medical technologies, Artificial Intelligence, and translational research.
A National Consortium for Healthcare Research
The PRIDE-INDIA consortium brings together researchers and healthcare professionals from several leading institutions:
- Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology (TIET)
- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi
- Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER), Chandigarh
- AIIMS Jodhpur
- National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS), Bengaluru
- Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow
- Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS), Hyderabad
The collaboration provides a platform for multidisciplinary research by bringing together expertise from engineering, Artificial Intelligence, medicine, clinical research, and healthcare technology.
Strengthening Healthcare Innovation Through Collaboration
Large-scale healthcare challenges require collaboration across disciplines and institutions. Through PRIDE-INDIA, researchers and clinicians from participating institutions can work together to develop and translate innovative approaches toward meaningful healthcare applications.
The involvement of Proton BioSystems Lab in this national consortium reflects the growing importance of interdisciplinary research connecting AI, medical technologies, engineering, and clinical expertise.
Team and Collaboration
I am honoured to be part of this important initiative along with Dr. Apinderpreet Singh, Dr. Saif Nalband, and the entire research team at TIET and our collaborating institutions.
This achievement represents the collective efforts of researchers, faculty members, clinicians, technical teams, and institutional partners working toward a common goal of advancing healthcare innovation in India.
Looking Ahead
PRIDE-INDIA marks an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration between academic institutions and healthcare centres and to contribute to research with potential impact at a national scale.
I look forward to working with the consortium partners and contributing to the research, innovation, and translational activities associated with this initiative.
Congratulations to everyone involved in this remarkable milestone.
